Director - Compensation (Job Opening 435233) - Scope of Position: The Department of Human Resources Shared Services supports the staff and management of The Ohio State University Medical Center. Services provided include: recruitment, education, OD/leadership development, training, HRIS, payroll, compensation, etc. The staff of the Department of Human Resources is available to staff, faculty and administrators to provide assistance in all Human Resources matters. The staff is designed to facilitate the implementation of human resources policies and programs and the resolution of human resources related problems. This is a joint position that will not report through HR Shared Services but will be responsible for campus and medical center compensation excluding physician and executive compensation. Position Summary: Lead a team of compensation managers, consultants and analysts in the development, support and maintenance of a salary structure and compensation programs of The Ohio State University's campus and Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to include the administration, design, implementation, and preservation of competitive, cost effective, and legally compliant compensation practices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or other related field. 5-8 years experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation programs. Excellent analytical skills, math/statistical aptitude. Knowledge of compensation structures, job grading and job slotting, HR policy, employment law and reporting requirements. Ability to interpret salary survey and salary reports. Project management/organizational skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively to persons at all levels of the company. Ability to make compensation recommendations to managers, executives and Staffing Department.
