Alaska's EHR Champions Help Guide Providers Across the Digital Divide

As many of us know, changes associated with technology in the way we do business can be time-consuming, frustrating, and expensive. Make that doubly so for medical practices and clinics, with their complex medical procedures, patient histories and records, security and privacy issues, and billing systems.

But in spite of some understandable tech-phobia on the part of many, Alaska�s healthcare provider community is moving toward the benefits of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), largely through the efforts of two champion organizations formed to help guide them across the digital divide: The Alaska EHR Alliance (the �Alliance�) formed in 2005 (, and its partner organization the Alaska e-Health Network (AeHN) ( formed in 2008.
